Albany's Lorries

At Albany Removals, we provide specialist removal transportation, fully insured, and good for local moves across Nottingham, Rushcliffe etc. or longer moves across the UK.

The lorries we use at Albany Removals are purposefully designed for the job. There is ample room for boxes and furnishings with security bars for items including white goods and furniture to be strapped securely. This limits movement of content whilst in transit, reducing the risk of damaging property.

Our smallest transport is a 3.5 Tonne Luton Van. Although it is called a van, it is larger than what we usually think of as a van, making it suitable for small moves such as a small house, reduced contents or flats. This lorry can be particularly useful when access to the premise is difficult due to a narrow drives, or limited parking.

The larger Lorry is an 18 tonne truck with a massive 2500 cubic feet capacity. This makes it perfect for a large four-bedroomed plus house. Moving it all in one lorry rather than two or three smaller ones will also help to cut down the costs. Before this lorry was repurposed and fitted as a removal lorry, it was rented by Ealing Studios during the production of the recent Star Wars films in 2021. So, your belongings may well be occupying space that once contained some Storm Troopers.

The large truck has some additional benefits; it can be easily partitioned to provide a separate space for garden content. This not only means that your household content can be separated from outside items, but also, due to the additional height of this lorry, tall container plants can fit better with reduced impact on height. It can also mean that some structures, may not need to be fully dismantled.

Occasionally both a larger and smaller lorry are necessary for very large moves. It is important to be accurate about what is being moved and what is being left, to ensure we reserve the correct transportation for the day.

For smaller, local moves in the Ruddington, Beeston, West Bridgford and Nottingham etc. area a WhatsApp video of the full content can be provided for a quote. For larger moves, or long-distance moves, Peter, from Albany Removals will need to visit, in person, to ensure the right size lorry/s are booked for the day/s required.

If you have awkward, narrow or restrictive access, it is also important we visit and plan the move in advance. Sorting this in advance makes things run smoothly on the day.

When the lorries are loading and unloading, they will need additional space for the ramps and access. The space needed for the small van is a total of three average car lengths, and for the large truck it will need at least 5 average care lengths. It is important to arrange this with neighbours in advance to avoid having to wake up or track down neighbours on the day of the move.
