Move from West Bridgford to Manchester

I gave a quote for this move, via WhatsApp. A house move, including a garden workroom all needed relocating to a new home in Manchester, and a new office.
The customers preferred to do their own packing. I provided suitable boxes and packing materials, delivering them a week in advance. I asked if they wanted me to have a look round, in person, to double check on the load to go, but it wasn’t possible at that time. This didn’t matter as the job was planned to be completed using two trucks, making it easier to split the loads and gain access to the property at the other end. The property in Manchester did not have easy access so the large 44-foot-long lorry would not have been able to park near the property.
On the day of the move, we arrived at 8am. The customer’s packing was great; appropriate boxes, sealed and mostly labelled. There were a small number of boxes still needing to be labelled, which meant that we didn’t know which room to unload to at the other end. Please remember, as you tape a box, use a felt-tip pen to note the room it needs to go to. It makes things quicker to unload and helps the clients locate all their things once they arrive.

There were five sewing machines, which were rather heavy, but Albany has some strong colleagues who got them into the van, protected with specialised removal blankets and strapped them securely, so they would not shift about during the drive. We always use plenty of blankets and strap goods in place to protect them. Although we are insured, clients want their belonging to be looked after, which is why experienced packers and loader are used at Albany.
The customers asked which address we wanted to unload at first. We suggested the family home, getting home set up and functioning first is better for the family. So we set up their, then moved to the office premises.
The new office was on the sixth floor, but thankfully it had a lift, or it would have been a much longer, exhausting job, especially with the huge sewing machines. It still took a long time to move everything up on a lift. It is always important to let us know if there are any access issues as we need to plan for this in advance. We might need specific equipment, or additional staff for. Unexpected difficulties can cause delays and create additional costs.
We set out the office room, bring the sewing machines in first, followed by the furniture and boxes. The customer wanted to consider the best layout at another time, so we set things in spaces that would make it easier to see different options and move into place.
Doing a quote via WhatsApp is a good starting place, especially if you have a small amount to move. The customer can do a quick 5 to 10 min video, on their phone when they have time and send to 07970383207. If it is a large move e.g. perhaps a larger three, plus, bed house, or if the WhatsApp video shows a visit is required this is not a problem.
