Best Time to Move
You don’t always have much say about what time of year, or what day of the week you can move, but if you do, there are several things to consider. Here, at Albany Removals, we can provide some insight into the busy times and what to avoid, if possible, to ensure you and your chain, get a removal booked in and completed without complications. This applies to buying or renting.

Fixtures and Appliances
Removal companies are there to help pack and move the content of your home and garden; there are some restrictions on what we can do though. Insurance, quite sensibly, limits us to do what our skills and training prepare us for, lifting and carrying for example. We are able to dismantle and reassemble furniture, but we aren't qualified builders, plumbers, electricians and gas fitters, so there are a number of activities off limits.

Moving your Plants and Garden Equipment
When you are moving house, it isn’t just the contents of the house, but also the garden that you will need to plan. In some cases, this can be a considerable amount of extras, which could affect the size of the lorry that needs to be booked, so have a good look round your garden and sheds to workout what you wish to take with you and make sure Albany Removals has been fully informed.

Hot Hot Hot Removals
Hot, Hot, Hot. Today should have been a straightforward move, but then the weather forecast went red!!!!

Completions and house moving days need to continue regardless of the weather. We are more use to managing cold and wet conditions than extreme heat and humidity, so needed to plan in advance to meet our customers’ needs and ensure staff's needs and safety are considered. Today is due to exceed all time heat records in the UK and Nottingham, our base and Lincolnshire, where we are headed... -

The Importance of Labelling Boxes
Smooth and problem free move between properties in West Bridgford. The clients had followed the guidance from the Hints and Tips leaflet, helping the whole day work without a hitch.

When we arrived, a space had been reserved for the lorry. This can save the time and frustration of knocking on neighbours’ doors at 8am, asking them to move, or the problem of blocking neighbours in.
It is important that we get as close to the property as possible. Not only does it reduce wasted time, but it a... -
Move from West Bridgford to Manchester
I gave a quote for this move, via WhatsApp. A house move, including a garden workroom all needed relocating to a new home in Manchester, and a new office.

The customers preferred to do their own packing. I provided suitable boxes and packing materials, delivering them a week in advance. I asked if they wanted me to have a look round, in person, to double check on the load to go, but it wasn’t possible at that time. This didn’t matter as the job was planned to be completed using two trucks... -

These days most people will look online for a quote, even when they have been given recommendations. It is easy and quick to access a lot of information about different removal companies.
On page one of google, about half the companies will actually be brokers, not actual removal companies. They will book jobs in, then contact removal companies to do them. There are some things to consider when using these brokers. Remember that not only will you be pay... -

A removal from Derbyshire to Nottingham.
I visited to quote for a removal and left providing separate prices for packing materials, packing, and dismantling (though the customer had said they would dismantle a large bar on the premises). The washing machine and other such appliances need to be dismantled by the owner or a professional as we are unable to get insurance for this.
The customers, who were lovely people, in their 70s, chose to pack all goods themselves and provid... -

The customer self-packed, so we arrived for an 8am start and attached the ramp on our 18-tonne truck ready for loading. It was our larger truck; at 38 feet long, it has plenty of room for large moves, avoiding the need for repeat journeys. As always, we put down carpet protectors on the floors and stairs.
When we walked around the house with the customer, to plan the loading, my Jaw dropped; all furniture was labelled for new room destination and... -

A successful removal, but not without a few obstacles due to late key release. It was a local removal between properties in West Bridgford, beginning at 8 am in the morning.
I had previously been round to see the customer to offer a quote for the removal and gauge the size of truck needed as well as the number of portable wardrobe boxes, mattress bags and sofa covers needed. Albany Removals offer a packing service if required; the customer chose to do there own packing. This can h... -
